CHICAGO SPIRAL SKYSCRAPER REDESIGNING

*This was the senior project that Otis College of Art and Design A/L/I major did for their last semister. This was located in Illinois, Chicago, US; 400 N Lake Shore Drive Chicago, Illinois. The site was designed to be a highest skyscraper in Chicago whereas because of the financial problem, they stopped constructing it. We were asked to remodel the site. Because Chicago is known for the second largest city for the finantial, the new design for the site was to make a community developement centre for the youth. By the meaning of the youth here is those who graduated undergraduate or graduate school and trying to develope themselves.

ALEXANDRIA HOTEL
*We have aksed to design the Alexandria Hotel which is placed in downtown Los Angeles. We redesigned the three floors on the bottom. I put kindergarten, restaurant and outdoor cafeteria on the very low level and other nine residents on the second and third floor. The main focus for my design was to have enough light for each houses. I tried to keep all the existing walls and floors. I kept the two light wells, palm court and ball room to give the feeling mixture of the modernism with antique. Another important part of this project was to have three different size for the families. This includes a full two stories apartment, one and a half stories apartment and studo sized apartment.
